# LumenPod

> LumenPod is a paid personal media collection organizer for Mac. It brings images, videos and audio into a local library with tags, ratings, an offline catalog, related media resources and optional locally encrypted vaults.

The direct-download edition from lumenpod.app supports Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 12 or later. It catalogs existing folders in place, including external and network volumes. Importing does not automatically copy, move or encrypt media. The offline catalog keeps entries visible when a drive is disconnected. One item can contain alternate copies and related resources; a video item can include cover art and subtitles.

Selected media can be encrypted locally in vaults with separate passwords. Media and vault keys are not uploaded to LumenPod servers. Activation and periodic license checks use the internet. Retained unencrypted originals remain readable outside a vault. Recovery requires valid recovery data and its matching key file; these should be stored separately. Media backups are also necessary.

The direct-download and Mac App Store editions have different storage and purchase behavior. Consult the support and legal pages for edition-specific details. Downloading alone does not activate a license, and the direct download has no free trial.

The current direct-download build also includes opt-in LAN access and a read-only HTTP WebDAV/browser share. The latter has no password and exposes only unencrypted, unhidden public media to reachable network clients while running. It excludes encrypted vault media. Multi-device access is not automatic multi-Mac library sync, which is not enabled in the standard build. These sharing services are not included in the Mac App Store edition.
